Structure Research and Electron Microscopy

Homepage

The structure research and electron microscopy group at the department of physics at HU Berlin focuses on the structural and chemical characterization of matter by electron-beam based techniques (2D/3D imaging, diffraction, spectroscopy, etc.), at lengths scales ranging from micrometers to atomic resolution. The group operates several state-of-the-art electron microscopes and related equipment and is also organized in joint laboratories with other electron microscopy facilities in the Berlin area. A strong research focus lies in the development of novel data acquisition and -reconstruction techniques, some of which are computationally very demanding and are thus run on the group’s own dedicated computing infrastructure.

Christoph T. Koch is principal investigator in subprojects B2.
