Genome Informatics
Birte Kehr is a bioinformatician in the field of genomic sequence analysis. She specializes in the development of computational analysis approaches for large amounts of DNA sequence data. In particular, she has developed approaches for detecting genomic structural variation in many thousands of genomes jointly. Before starting her own Junior Research Group at the Berlin Institute of Health and the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin in November 2016, she was as a Research Scientist at deCODE genetics in Iceland. She holds a PhD from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Freie Universität Berlin.
Birte Kehr is principal investigator in subprojects A6.
