As a collaborative research center, FONDA works to uphold the principles of equity and diversity outlined by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
FONDA contributes to METIS, which provides resources related to diversity, gender equality, and family-friendliness to research alliances based at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In addition, the majority of participating institutions have an equal opportunity office (listed below) along with additional networks specifically geared towards supporting women in science. FONDA members can also take advantage of programs such as Women in Natural Science (WiNS) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Berlin-wide organization Professionalization of Women in Research and Teaching (ProFiL).
Diversity goes beyond promoting gender equality and family friendliness. As part of FONDA, we want to provide a welcoming workplace for scientists of color, first generation academics, scientists with disabilities, and anyone who faces systemic discrimination.
