Software Engineering
Prof. Dr. Anna-Lena Lamprecht is a leading expert in research software engineering, known for her work on the FAIR for Research Software (FAIR4RS) principles and the automated composition of data analysis workflows. She is a Full Professor of Software Engineering at the University of Potsdam, where she leads the Chair of Software Engineering at the Institute of Computer Science.
She studied Applied Computer Science at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, and earned her PhD from TU Dortmund University in 2012. Her academic career includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Potsdam, a Research Fellow at Lero (the Irish Software Research Centre at the University of Limerick), and an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
With a strong interdisciplinary background, Prof. Lamprecht collaborates with researchers in life sciences, bioinformatics, geosciences, and materials science to advance the role of software in scientific discovery. She is very active in the research software engineering community, serving as Chairperson of the Gesellschaft für Informatik’s Special Interest Group on Research Software Engineering. She is also an active member of de-RSE e.V. and represents Germany in the International Council of RSE Associations, working to shape the future of research software on both national and international levels.
Prof. Lamprecht is a PI in subprojects A7 and C2, and serves on FONDA’s board as equal opportunity commissioner.
