Our PIs assemble different perspectives onto data analysis workflows and their application in the natural sciences, especially in computational physics, remote sensing, and the life sciences. In many subprojects, interdisciplinary teams investigate particular aspects of the respective scientific domain; other teams focus on purely computer science aspects of infrastructures for large-scale data analysis.
In FONDA II we welcome 10 new PIs, many of whom were appointed to professorships in Berlin and Brandenburg specifically to further strengthen the region’s focus on large scale data analysis at the interface of natural and computer sciences. The project currently has 23 PIs from 11 institutes across Germany
