FONDA – Foundations of Workflows for Large-Scale Scientific Data Analysis

On March 18th and 19th, FONDA met in Rangsdorf for our spring 2026 retreat. After an excellent keynote On Generative Requirements Engineering and Design by Walid Maalej from the Hasno Plattner Institute, each subproject had the opportunity to showcase the work they have done since our last retreat. Teams T6, T7, and T9 also met to discuss ongoing work and further collaborations.
FONDA’s members met from October 7th to 9th in Potsdam for our Fall Retreat. In addition to subproject progress reports, each PhD student presented a poster regarding their thesis topic, and we had two marvelous keynote talks by Carole Goble and Sarah Cohen-Boulakia!
From September 10-12, FONDA’s doctoral researchers met at Coconat space for a self-organized retreat. The group shared tools they use to keep their research organized and worked on abstracts for potential collaborations between subprojects, ideas for potential master’s thesis topics, and other ideas for FONDA
FONDA had its spring 2025 retreat on April 8th and 9th at the beautiful Schloss Lübbenau! All of the subprojects presented their progress so far, and our phase II Teams (T6-T9) had the chance to kick off their collaborations.
Members from both phases of FONDA met for our retreat in Kremmen from December 4th to 6th. Scientists from the first phase passed the torch to the incoming cohort with presentations of the work so far and lively scientific discussions about the future.
